Founded in 1948, E. Sam Jones has grown from humble beginnings to become one of the country’s largest lighting distributors. The lighting retrofit division started in 1992 when the Southeast began adopting fluorescent T8 technology. Commercial customers had a problem: timely and dependable installation of their new energy efficient products. In 1994, ESJ completed their first school district T8 retrofit, followed by their first Federal ESCO Retrofit with the DoD in 2000.

From 2009 to 2016, ESJ saw ARRA fueled MUSH growth with a national federal expansion period. Today, ESJ has been providing comprehensive and collaborative solutions to commercial and ESCO customers for 30 years, with the two largest jobs to date at Hill AFB, Utah ($13M & 58,000 fixtures and Atlanta’s public transit, MARTA ($14M).
